Gilmer, TX: East Texans for Liberty will host Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Thursday, May 19, at the Gilmer Civic Center at 6:00 PM. Paxton, touring east Texas, will first meet with the Republican Women of Wood County, then Titus County, and then with East Texans for Liberty in Upshur.
“We are thrilled for General Paxton to join us in Gilmer. The last time the General was in our great county was for our Stars of Texas Gala in 2019,” says Stacy McMahan, East Texans for Liberty’s Executive Director.
General Paxton has served in the position of Texas Attorney General since January 5, 2015. Paxton is in a runoff with George Bush. Early voting for the runoff will be May 16 thru May 20, with Election Day on May 24, 2022.
“Introducing General Paxton will be Upshur County’s Republican House Representative Cole Hefner. ET4L is excited to have the staunch conservative as our new Representative,” said McMahan. “Hefner has repeatedly scored as one of the top conservative Representatives in the state. I have closely followed his record, in Austin since he was first sworn in. Hefner has a servant’s heart and will represent Upshur County voters well,” McMahan continued.
“The Paxton event is in addition to our regular second Monday of the month public meeting, which is scheduled for Monday, May 9. May 9th is with Upshur County Sheriff Larry Webb. Webb, a Republican, is running unopposed for re-election. For more details see our events page at www.ET4L.org or call (903) 500-2292,” McMahan concluded. “Both events are free, open to the public, and student-friendly.”
